Sebastian Jakob is Chief Revenue Officer at VettaFi, a subsidiary of the TMX Group, where he oversees the firm’s commercial organization spanning sales, marketing, research, and editorial. He previously served as TMX VettaFi’s COO & Head of Strategy, helping transform the business into a differentiated index provider that supports asset managers across the globe to build and grow their ETF product suites.

Before joining TMX VettaFi, Sebastian was the Director of Strategy & Head of Marketing at machine-learning systematic hedge fund Voleon Capital Management in Berkeley, California, where he built out the firm’s distribution & marketing function and supported the launch of multiple new strategies. Earlier in his career, he led business strategy for BlackRock’s ETF Markets & Investments group and began his career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Europe and the Middle East.

Sebastian holds a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of St. Gallen and an M.Sc. in Finance from the University of London. He holds the Level 3 qualification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and serves as an Associate Judge at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in the UK.
