Avi Nachmany is a seasoned expert in the mutual fund and ETF industry, bringing over 30 years of leadership and insight. He co-founded Strategic Insight (SI) in 1986, establishing it as a premier research and business intelligence firm serving global asset managers, fund trustees, and policymakers. As Director of Research for more than two decades, Avi shaped SI’s fact-based analytical approach and led groundbreaking studies that informed fund executives, independent directors, law and service firms, regulators, and the Investment Company Institute (ICI). Today, SI’s research and data tools are widely used throughout the financial services industry.

Avi authored one of the first in-depth studies on ETFs in 2000—Exchange-Traded Funds: Promises and Limitations—when the ETF industry had just crossed $50 billion in assets.

In 2024, Avi launched and published InnovationWatch@ETFs, a new research series in collaboration with ETF Global, producing six reports focused on disruptive trends and innovations in the ETF space.

Currently, Avi serves as an independent trustee of the NYC-based Baron Funds and advises several AI-driven fintech companies, helping shape the next generation of investment tools and platforms.
